The City of Jersey City has announced a slew of proposed zoning changes (download) that will effect many of the The Heights main streets and corridors.  These important changes and many more are being proposed to the Planning Board at the upcoming Planning Board meeting on July 12 at 5:30pm.  We are asking for a delay so that Planning can hold a public meeting to explain, review and get feedback from the community on these zoning changes.  While we applaud the restrictions of curb cuts, we are especially concerned that up-zoning for height and density may create an incentive for developers to demolish existing buildings along the streets.

This meeting has been carried to 26-July! The Planning Board has also agreed to make adjustments to the amendments based on the RNA Development Committee’s feedback.
